WHAT BRINGS PEOPLE TO COUNSELLING?

Sometimes you simply know that something isn’t right.

You may know exactly what is troubling you, or simply feel stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected. You don’t need a diagnosis or a label to begin.

Anxiety & overwhelm

When worries or anxious thoughts feel difficult to manage.

Grief & loss

Bereavement and other forms of loss or significant change.

Relationships & heartbreak

Difficult relationships, separation or struggling to move on.

Stress & burnout

When work, responsibility or life has started to feel too much.

Identity & self-esteem

Exploring who you are, how you see yourself and what you want.

Life changes

When familiar parts of life are changing or the future feels unclear.

Performance pressure

Anxiety around performing, achieving or meeting expectations.

Feeling stuck

When you know something needs to change but aren’t sure how.

MY APPROACH

Therapy starts with understanding your experience.

My core training is person-centred. I don’t begin with a predetermined formula for what your therapy should look like.

We work together to understand what is happening, notice patterns and, where useful, develop practical ways of supporting yourself beyond the therapy room.

My role isn’t to tell you how to live your life.

It’s to help you understand yourself more clearly and find the way forward that feels right for you.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Therapy is a conversation, not an examination.

Warm and collaborative

You can speak openly, at your own pace, without needing to prepare or perform.

50-minute sessions

Some weeks you may know exactly what you want to discuss; other times we simply begin with how things feel.

A relationship that matters

Feeling understood and comfortable enough to be yourself is an important part of working well together.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few things you may be wondering

How much does counselling cost?

Individual counselling sessions are £50 for 50 minutes.

Where are you based?

I offer face-to-face counselling in Market Harborough, with parking available. Online sessions are also available.

Do I need to know exactly what I want to talk about?

No. Some people begin with a very clear issue, while others simply know that something feels difficult or unresolved. We can begin wherever you are.

Will you tell me what I should do?

Counselling isn’t about someone else making decisions for you. I’ll work with you to understand what is happening and consider the choices or changes that feel right for you.

How many sessions will I need?

There isn’t one answer that suits everyone. It depends on what brings you to counselling and what you want from the process.

You don’t need to know exactly where to begin.

If something has brought you here, a short message is enough. We can take it from there.
